that's what I tried before, we have friends in Cambridgeshire I wanted the set sent to after I bought them the first time around (for then GBP 220). But he cancelled after the sale because he probably found me too teutonic. But what can I say, Christmas came early as I now got a great set from Rob, can't thank him enough!!!!

As I said, I have two NOS ones with a brownish face - but I wanted to contact him anyway because my revcounter swings around wildly when I start the bike - after that it behaves normally. Any clues?

maybe a damping issue (or better: lack of)...? Could also be a lack of greasing/oiling of the tacho cable so it "breaks free" and gives the needle a push maybe? Best to ask Max, everything else is just guess work...  :-[
 
Damping is fine after the bike has started. The needle actually goes full circle a couple of time, then settles. I'll ask him after the holidays.
