For anyone on here that maybe interested.
I have no connection to the seller, was just looking.

Hi

The price is too high when you closely study how many deficiencies there are on the bike, it lacks, among other things: the large Bosch generator, special side cover on the left side, duplex chain, plus many more thing.

If you're looking at it as a correct period endurance racer, the points you raise have some validity. If you're interested in racing it today, much of what isn't there - duplex chain and big generator for example - you don't want on it. Chains have moved on, the races are shorter etc.
Having been down the track of building a race 1200 around a stock frame, what's offered here is pretty much what I'd have loved to start with.
The right bits for a very good race bike are there.
As I've said to a lot of people over the years about a lot of bikes - try building another for the price.

There isn't a price, it's an auction.

It's always good to establish the racing pedigree of a bike like this,

"Raced at Bol d'Or Classic and Spa Francorchamps, paraded at the IOM TT" and "the machine has been kept on display in the vendor's kitchen"

:)

and it has been run with a 100% blocked oil cooler hose, the cooler being sited in the fairing nose, also creates great resistance for the oil pump.

By all accounts it’s a fairly quick bike, with a claimed timed speed of 158mph at Spa if I remember correctly.
Really? It was then a 1200 running 'hi compression' Mondial slugs, albeit with less weight as a spaceframe. To echo Mr Nairn 'who's been throwing Laverdas off a cliff?! 😂

I wonder if you were thinking of Bob Dixon' s spaceframe which used Phil Todd's tuned RGS engine, loaned to Laverda Corse after their crash? 🤔 Can't find the timing sheets.

I seem to recall seeing a comment from Ray on a forum thread posted some years ago making the claim, but perhaps it wasn’t his bike he was making the claim.

and Mondial were not the high compression variant, they were Asso.

I am feeling sad about this bike, it needs a good and loving home, Ray is not a well man and at one time he was a very good mate of mine.
I can't find the picture of him and me in the giant bath at Baskerville hall, anyone?

Clem, you don’t get loving homes for them any more they are bought by the head and not the heart by people who just want an investment, I know the guy who owns the bike now and all his bikes are well looked after. Hope you’re well (apologise to Alan if my grammar isn’t up to scratch 😘) Geoff & Heather
