1200 for sale

Green Mirages had a shorter flatter bar not the same as the high wide and handsome 1200Ti believe they came off the Alpino
Not sure about the few pre green ones

Geoff
When I asked Richard Slater about this some years ago he laughed and said all the 1200s had the same handlebars..

Interesting... they do look a little different it has to be said and I think mine resemble those on the Mirage more than those on the gold one which does look really good: never seen a 1200 in that livery before...

The 'bars look correct for a Mirage (ie same as 1200T). What other differences do you refer to (just curious)? When was the switch from thin to thick web wheels (or was it the other way around!!)?
Indeed, it did sell at a very fair price: would have been interested myself if I'd known sooner...
Now I'm no expert.. but I have a genine slater mirage that was made in late 77.
Not that it matters really.. but the differences between that bike and mine are the tank (decal'd), side panels (decal'd), forks, front mudgaurd, rear shocks, jota adjustable bars- std on early mirage (pre the green colour that came in 78), thin Web wheels.
And I'm sure I've missed more.
I would guess the frame number would be real measure, as any of the parts could have been changed since the bike left the factory.

never found anything that stopped it, and a ladder would have helped its a very tall vehicle

Are you talking about the gold 1200T or the red 'mirage'? To the best of my knowledge no 1200s were ever supplied with jota bars...

Yes, fair enough.. I was referring to the Series 1 bikes and not the pastiches which followed in an assortment of specifications...

My understanding is that the very 1st few (slater mirages with the striping on the tanks) had the jota bars, but when the green mirage came out the bars changed.
They are fairly rare things I would guess.
