1200 TS versus 1200 TS Mirage? What is different?

Alans 1200 is not a 1200TS nor a 1200TS Mirage. the very rare, series 1, 1200TS was called a Mirage and I have one to prove it, owned from virtually knew by me, the UK models seemed to me to have different side panels than their ROW counterparts. The red lines are changed to incorprate the Miarage name. Most TS bikes are series 11 but still called Mirage, what is forgotten is that the series 1 TS had the Jota big valve head, (see Laverda parts variation sheet if you dont belive me) but All cams and 7.8:1 Mondial pistons, which can clash with valves much more easilly that higher comp 1200's, that head also had double valve springs. I have never known Jota's, even a very quick local one to leave me behind, not even on flat out mile + top speed runs, but then again, mine is not stock any more but does still have the Mondials and All's I have both types of sidepanel here, but cant be arsed to take proving photos.
CLEM

I think the early 1200s were called Ts rather than TSs and identified by the tank and tailpiece swooshes though I could be mistaken...

No one is saying Alan's 1200 is a TS Clem. I think most of us can tell the dif between a early model 1200 and the TS
What I said is the first 1200 models is way more handsome than the TS models. I also brought a S1 TS with very few KMs on it and yes it had the big valve head and A11 cams and went rather well but even better once I binned 90% of it and built the Motodd. If it was an early 1200 I might have kept it as such but the TS was so damn ugly [imho] the only solution for that fantastic motor was the Motodd route.
Agree with Andy, I also thought the first 1200s were called Ts. Then Slaters did their thing and called it a Mirage, and the factory ran with the name on the TS series.
