1969 750 GT

Decided to get up early and start on GT, front wheel out measure up shoes and drum , worn but nothing untoward..
Whipped out rear wheel..Ah , might explain slight grabbiness  :o :o:oand almost complete inability to retard the bike in anyway. Probably a good time to stop horsing round Exmoor and get brakes relined.

The toggle switch on the side of headlamp is in fact a live feed switch for a Fiam relay, may be To do with an Italian bylaw no Fiams on Sundays.
I?ve also noticed the crankcase ( around l/hand rear gearbox mount) has GTN stamped on it, is the N significant?

Apologies for dredging this thread up from the depths, but I've been reading it with great interest.

Exmoor beast, what happened to your '69 750 GT in the end?
Full motor rebuild ( all on here) new valves, seals, etc and have done about 3000miles on it razzing round Exmoor last eighteen months .Pretty much post every week with me an “ Oskar” parked up somewhere looking cool. Truly great motorcycle- I’m happy enough with reliability to do a really big ride. I try to do 100miles every time I go out.Any questions about GTs ask away.

Brilliant! I will no doubt pick your brain on GT matters. Mine (also a '69) has been checked over by Ged following a restoration then long-term storage. I imported it over from the Netherlands back in March. I'm now waiting for DVLA to stop being prats and register it so I can clock up some miles!

Here's a pic of Beppe!

Interestingly it has the same frame brake as mine ( not very common & fitted to the S) check the crankcase stamping underneath by centre stand - mine has GTN .
Looks like a really nice one- well done!
Thank you! Yes, Ged was saying this Grimeca brake was a later version just before the SF Laverda brake. Apparently, they’re pretty decent unlike the earlier Grimeca, which was a bit pants (this has nothing to do with trousers for our American readers).

Will check case stamping.

I can confirm that it's a good brake.
