Is August spring in France Paul??? you said spring 74. , August 74 makes sense, and it is towards the end of the register,Marco confirmed my dates, suggest you ask him about yours. Those plates a pucka. Can:t see the problem.

I was quoting from memory, checked the docs since.
It would take a few weeks to order a bike in Italy, bring it over to the French importers, send it to the dealers and register it, so that is late spring at the soonest.

Whats pukka? Being ill from too much alcohol?
Has Marco got the factory records?

Paul

Wrong though,3Cs shouldn`'t sound like Jotas. Lovely bike otherwise.
hi shun most people who had the money to by a 3c got slaters to fit the Jota pipes from new. 3c with Jota pipes against a Jota I don't think Joe public could tell the difference, tuners and those in the know will but not Joe public. These old clongers need to breath and the Jota cans do look better IMHO
Regards Andy 😁

It"s only my opinion Andy, open always for debate. What goes around comes around in fashions, patch work jeans an upgrade? :D

Pukka is English slang for proper or correct AFAIK.
As for the pipes-the bike looks period correct when seamed silencers are mounted. I'm surprised no one has picked on missing fuel line clamps!

Like so many in the English language, words have been appropriated from many different countries of the world.

"Pukka(h)" is from India. The Hindi "pakkā", Sanskrit "pakva": ?cooked, ripe, substantial?

Chiefly British (1) Genuine; authentic. (2) Superior; first-class.

Thanks Paul, used to use that word a lot and was surprised to see someone on the forum using it.
Even more surprised when I pulled up at an intersection on my 3c and a young Hipster guy ran out and congratulated me on a " Pukka bike"
Namaste
Tom  :)

In fact these early non oil cooled bikes were built in late 1973 regardless of what the compliance plates may say, if you have a look at the homologation number on this bike DGM.10866 this represented mechanical brakes and certain noise output, these bikes were built with pre stamped homologation numbered frames from the drum brake bikes, it is estimated there were about 250 of these frames!!

Hey IAG, why not run one of your "WHATS IT GONNA SELL FOR" dealios on this bike. We haven't had a top shelf 3C for sale in the states for a while, and this one seems to be above average to say the least.

I can support with prizes. But I don't want to steal your thunderous showmanship. Do it!

Am currently restoring a 3C bought from a friend for ?3000. It was complete and original.
The engine needs renovating from A to Z.
The total cost of restoration including paint, chrome tyres will probably be around ?5000.
That means a new 3C for ?8000.

Ballpark?

About $9000USD..based on my Hagerty insurance and this 3c eBay sale..your bike's value is well inside the market..enjoy

3 years ago,Traded in a 1971 Guzzi V7 Sport for mine that I imported in mint condition from Italy for 6K inc shipping, dealers wanted ?12K  for the 1580 3C,ho ho,, but they offered me ?8,500 for the Guzzi in p/ex ,I added 2K  to purchase the 3C so ?8K all in.

A big headlamp pre oiler early 3C "should" command more than later 3Cs.

Rarity in the USA will have an effect

Laverda never had any market here in the USA. Importing and distribution was non-existent and no active group of devotees or riders.

Slater did some active sales and dedicated promotion in the UK. We never had that here. Pity.

All Laverda(s) are rare here.  Been like that for many decades.  You could get them cheap as chips a few years ago, when rusty, smoking, clanking Ducati(s) got all the money and then some.
