2into1 headers

My 750SF came to me with this 2into1. It's getting kind of sad looking. These come out to the right side of the bike (Slaters?). I'm assuming they are unobtainium at this point. I'm in Atlantic Canada and the nearest plater is two provinces over, and I'm not sure they'd do exhaust pipes anyway. Any thoughts or recommendations on saving them? I love the look, but am not convinced there is a performance benefit to them, BTW, so I'm not super married to them. Just not sure if I should just save up for a replacement 2-2 or try to stick with them. View attachment 100544

Yep Those are Ricky Racer pipes that Lance Weil had made, and they were SF 750 Ground grinders on right hand corners.
I worked on my SFC 750 in Lances shop in Pomona in 1977 and found Lance to be remarkable prototype guy but some of the parts he reproduced
were slightly not to be race tested. In 1979 I had Steve Carrol who ran European Cycle Specialties X - Ricky racer employee who built my SF750 exhaust 2-1 and my Zeta race 500 2-1 systems and they turned out amazing. But Later Steve Carrol just closed shop and disappeared.
The Pipes I just installed 72 SF are from MALCOM COX from the UK. Just a work of art. He is fast and accurate in the fit up, I only had to make thinner flange collars on my lathe to fit the SF stock flanges due to his headers are slightly larger in diameter than the stock 1972 pipes. Still the pipes now look amazing on my SF750 , The photo included is the SF Engine Stock Flanges with collars from with different diameters on the counterbores for the Laverda flanges before I machined new thinner collars to grip the new pipes from Malcom Cox. sorry it's not in mm for the counter bores.

Wolfgang told me the Stock SF750 center stand will not work with a SFC 750 race pipe copy- 2-1 exhaust on the left side exit. and he was right,
the center stand frame mounts on the SFC 750 race bike were different, slimmer and that's why all the Model SF-750 1,2,3 BIKES had the pipes out the right. for 2-1 aftermarket pipes, Also the left side foot operated side stands got in the way on the stock SF'750's because the foot bar for the side stand and bar on the center stand on the left side to park the bike. But if you got rid of the stock 750 SF 1,2,3 center stand, A good exhaust pipe builder could fit up a left hand 2-1 with 1-1/2 tubing, to a merge collector to the tapered Megaphone with an optional core to calm it down there are companies are all over Southern California for the exit megaphone parts to build this. Believe me I wanted One before I bought one of Malcolms systems.

All aftermarket 2/1 exhaust systems for 750 Laverda with standard centre stand exit on the left.
All of them except that American thing.

I've seen bikes where owners who've botched an SFC 2/1 onto a std SF1/2/3 frame, even leaving the sidestand lug - truly horrible. If you didn't wish to go the whole hog and fit an SFC narrow-pivot centre stand (which requires removal of all std SF centre stand and sidestand lugs on the frame), the correct 'half-measure' fitment required altering the angle of the left leg of the std centre stand, removing all the lugs from the left side and welding a new lug onto the frame.

Was European Cycle Specialities in Costa Mesa? If so, that is where I bought my used RGS Executive in the late eighties.
