3CE for sale

There's a French saying Phil that goes "Qui aime bien, chatie bien". He who likes well, punishes well.
Grant and I have a love-hate relationship.
Welcome to the club.

Just watching a show on the television about art ........ the catch phrase is "it's not the price of the art ........ the price IS the art" ....... trying to explain why so much twaddle and duck poo sells for great sums of money.

I think I shall become an artist ........ I coukld use some extra cash.

I?m an artist Jim!!

Good luck with the sale Matt.

I hope you are keeping well and the art is flowing nicely in your poolside studio. A nice spot for social distancing.

Here's a pic for you. Your old 750, under heavy load, on holiday...

the chassis stamping for the 3CE was "added to" by Slaters, it has "3CE" stamped in a not really there space after Lav1000 and before the *XXXX* numbers, because of the lack of space it is stamped at a sever upward slope. another clue is that the rear sets cannot be fitted without the removal of the cable lug on the inside of the frame triangle used for the 3C (not E)  brake pedal set up
cam, pistons,  and SFC yolks as mentioned, the real tell tale would be an entry on Slaters records, not all of which are available due to a fire years ago

It was a bloody nice bike the last time I saw it and rode it as well, Matt seemed to enjoy riding TOG, but I don't think he was about to be a convert to the lower BHP figures.

Hi Grant
Thanks for your comment. I am not sure if I have a certificate but there's 3CE stamped on frame. I can take a photo and I'll look through paperwork. I'll put here if I find some more concrete evidence.
Best

Hi Grant+
Here's two pics of the numbers on the frame of my bike showing 3CE...also of the yolks from above and side. Hard to do from beneath...do let me know what you think Grant+ and if other pics needed of yolks.
Matt

Thanks for your input Clem- hope you are well and able to ride a bit. I've added a pic showing the 3CE as you describe. I'm spoke to  Richard S. where I bought it and he says it is def. a UK bike imported by Slaters. He's happy to put that in writing but he can't do more as no record re 3CE.
I wonder if anyone else has records of 3CE's like SFC 750 list ?
Thanks again
Matt

Hi Paul,

I much appreciated the paint on your SF in Breganze last summer.
Do you have the reference?
I'm still hesitating for my 3C.

Paul

A little bit hard to see with the shadows in the picture, but I reckon they seem parallel. Regardless of that your bike?s a 3CE in fine condition (as is your old SF), a shame you have to sell it, surely it will be appreciated by the new owner.

So I wonder if these 3Cs built at Breganze were stamped 3CE as special order bikes just for Slaters??
From your picture I think they are offset triple clamps they don't appear parallel to the head stock.
Very interesting history.

I?m not sure about headstock. Bit hard to photograph. See Clem?s comment on where 3CE added but he thinks done on arrival at Slaters. <matthale58@gmail.com>

look at the frames stamped 3CL and then look at the pic of Matts bike

The 3CL ones are all in the same font and all neatly in line, as in LAV.10003CL*????*
no evidence as such, but surely if the factory had stamped in the 3CE bit, they could have made the space, not so, the case with what we are looking at, and different fonts plus a very "amateur" and "added to" look to the job.
CLEM

If Slaters were making the 3CE why would it be stamped at the factory???  :-X

As for the offset clamps, probably a photo from underneath the lower clamp with the steering stop removed would show the non-centric steering pivot.
