73 SF2 Renovation

Float height on the PHF carb is 18mm.
24 is way too low. If that's the case, no fuel apart from through the choke jet.
Paul
Thanks Paul and Vince. I took the measurement of 24mm from the Tim Parker book "Twin & Triple Repair and Tune-up Guide" Page 95 but now realise this was based on the VHB carburettor. I will bow to your superior knowledge and adjust to 18mm from the base of the body

The good news is that I carried out a compression test and found each cylinder was 150psi. Much relief on that!

So now for another carbie disassembly...I will not be beaten! I now have a 5 string guitar...

That’ll run like a million bucks 👍

Reading all your posts I see that you've tried everything to clean out the carbs w/ the problem persisting. So possibly the problem is from another cause- a leak down test would further indicate other potential issues. Pirahana's cam timing suggestion might be worth investigating.

Email me for a comprehensive Dell Orto rebuilding PDF- ted@tedgadecki.com, and if you need an exploded diagram from the owners manual

Hi All,

Just to let you know I've finally got the carbs problems sorted thanks to Mark Muir. He visited me and checked all the pathways, adjusted the float levels, idle screws etc and finally did a sync adjustment. All running good now (well, as well as a 50 year old bike can run!). Thanks Mark, much appreciated :).

Now, to sort out the front brakes....

Back again!

I have a Brembo Master Cylinder repair kit (P/N 110273920) which I would like to install. Looking in the Forum Library, mention is made of an install guide with photos for this. Can anybody provide this for me?
