Nice bike too!

Would be interested to know, why the rear rack is that high.
On my SF1 I did a rack myself. Not as nice, but did what I expected:

The rack was bought off asmall company called classic bike racks. I think its a similar rack with different mounting points for other classics. Keeps things nice and high and it was made in stainless and a good price. Would have liked an original but couldn't justify the price.

OK guys- I promise I won't paint it orange (even though I want to). Since I'm in the states and know that spare Laverda parts are near and dear, is there info on what Ducati parts from Bevel Heaven might work? Parts such as Brembo pads/rebuild kits/Ceriani fork seals/Del Orto rebuild kits, clutch cables/brake lines. I plan on going thru the bike and addressing what's needed, so trying to gather info in the mean time, thanks

100% on the typical Italian stuff from Steve, BTW you also have Wolfgang in Canada who supplies most of the world's Laverda bits.

Painted my SF2 white in 1980 after an accident, not because I hated orange, but because I like white. It’s still white, still like it. There’s plenty orange in my shed though.

The one colour I was absolutely NOT going to paint the SFQ ... was orange. But I have no qualms about others going for it - just reckon there are some fantastic alternative hues out there.

I would not replace the points with an electronic ignition. It will not run any better unless the advance mechanism is worn out as they sometimes are from the previous owner not ever cleaning and greasing it.

Both my 750's have points and the ignitions still work perfectly after 45 years and a lots of miles.

A triple is a different thing as you want to get rid of the factory ignition as soon as possible.

I have complete overhaul kit for the Brembos that I won't be using.
