75 SF2 in Ontario, Canada

WOW! I only know of 3 750SF's in Ontario Canada. My 70 SFO a friend of mine with a not so good running SF1 one and now that SF2 for Sale.

He advertises it as a 1975 but more likely a 1973 or 74 SF - Canadian registration of European Vehicles were weird due to Canadian Import regulations.

You have to use the Breganzie Serial# to determine the correct model and year here in Canada.

For-instance: My 70 SFO was registered here in Canada as a 73 Model which it clearly was not. Basically took 2 years to clear customs.

That model looks more like a late 72 or early 73 model considering them 30A open mouth Carbs and intro of Disc Brakes ?

By 1975 cheap Japanese suicide bikes were flooding the Canadian market and the European Bikes could not compete.

Well it could be an early 750 with square dels and up graded disc front end or a SF2 down graded with square dels.
It does have the later switch gear so I'd say SF2 so what happened to the 36mm Dels???

Looks pretty tidy. The carbs are a mystery - no SF1 or 2 ever came with square Dells. Can't quite work out whether it's a small valve head or not.

Did N Am and Canadian models come with crossover gear/brake back then? Didn't se them here (Oz) until SF3.

I don't think there's any such thing as a 75 750SF or SFC  sold by the Breganzie factory ?

The Breganzie production run for the 750 ended in mid 73 to mid 74 and concentrated on the their 1000cc 3 Cly Jota - Whatever!

The 73 Breganzie 1000cc Triple had SF Drums where as the 74's had Disc brakes and specifically named "JOTA".

About the only exception for 1975 was perhaps the 1975 750SFC Electronic - The LAST of the Breganzie 750's.

The SF3 must have been a figment of my imagination then and Ron must have been the consultant for the Barber Museum regarding their 3c Jota :D

Would be nice to know the serial number. Here in Canada MPH gauges first appeared on the '73 SFs. The 72's had KPH. Same with turn signals, which this example is missing. Hard to tell which year this one is. LH shift could be a later addition. From 1972 to 74, I worked at a dealership that sold them (K.C. Cycle Ltd, Ottawa), and the latest model I saw in their showroom was a '74 SFC. Wish I had bought it back then!

I bought my SF1 from a guy in Aylmer Quebec in 1987, but I believe it came from that same dealership.

16-fin head? big-valve?
My stock factory 1974 SF2 #16190 has a 17-fin head. I'm guessing it was just before the change to the 16-fin head?

for the record 750 twins were built by the Breganze factory up until 1978 ending with Kuwaiti police bikes and then (maybe) 2 or 3 built to special request.

This small carb'ed bike may well have been  originaly police spec bike and later changed to discs.

but then again there was that very small factory in Collington that was knocking them out well in the 80's using Egli frames.

The fin count is a really doozie. Never knew about that until about a year ago. I have an SF2, SF1 and small-valve (SF?) head in my workshop - I'll do some counting. Be surprised if my earlyish (13768) SF1 had a diff no to the SF2s and beyond.
