After the arrival of cheaper priced Japanese bikes, by 75, I don't think there was one remaining European Motorcycle Dealer left in Canada - Perhaps a handful of BMW, Guzzi and Ducati dealerships - Definitely no Norton, Triumph, BSA,or Laverda Dealerships. Even Harley went under to AMF over the bite of the Japanese Motorcycle invasion.

As far as I know, Wolfgang, on the West Coast, was the only Breganzie dealership to survive and perhaps a ordering office in Montreal; however, there were no new Laverda imports into Canada after say 75.

Well Thunderbay being in the boondocks may not have had a Laverda dealer  after 1975 but there were many in Canada after that. Romanelli was still the Canadian distributor in 1985. I bought my Jota new in 1982 from the Laverda dealer in Winnipeg.

I sold my 70 SFO to a bloke in Winnipeg a few years ago. Wonder if there's a connection.

They have a few facts wrong but this is what a GTL looks like.

I asked the vendor for the serial number and it matches a '75 GTL in the registry.
the right side panel front edge is angled a SF2 is straight.

Basically the Breganzie SF and SFC models ended in 73 [70SFO(SFC), 71SF1(SFC) , 72SF2(SFC) and then the SF3(SFC Electronic) - After that the rest where GTL's Police versions with an alternator and Public versions with God knows what.

Say the 750 Breganzie ran up to 78 - In a former shell !

However, it doesn't mean you can't take former shell and built her into her full potential.

Would like know if she will do over 7400 rpm hitting 8000 ;o)

It may have started as a GTL ....... but the side panels are altered. Don't know if the disc brakes were an option for the GTL or added afterwards.

Ron - I bought my 1st Laverda from the Calgary dealership Elite Cycle in '81, and Northern Cycle in Edmonton was still very much in operation then selling Laverdas.

I bought an '81 Jarama from him.  Calgary was in the midst of 20% interest rates then.  I was a know-nothing 19 yr old buying more of a bike then I should have... with a huge loan.  Very dumb.

Don't feel guilty Aebbern. I bought an 81 Suzuki GSX-R 1100 (Much cheaper then a Jarma back then); then sold it after a couple of months because I had an issue were I liked to cruise at 140 mph with her. I was 33 years old knew better ;o)

Gerald: Handling was perfect except the speed SCARED you to Death and you realize if you made one mistake - Your Dead.

I was always a 750 racer and in my opinion could shoot down 1000'nds in the long run ;o)
