750 points and electronic system?

Yes the ubiquitous black box with nothing inside version, straight through wires inside.... make a special for him.... the electronics when your not having electronics... known out here as "Claytons".... pressing his starter button has merit and trepidations... his absence would be missed... at/every 4 years on the 29th... well dang me that is today. j

Paul LeClair ( also missed here of late ) liked his SFC and iis in the day.... kind to me in those days.

Dont think the order book will fill up any time soon.... only when the points become old and replacements hard to obtain. Then i will be nursing home based....j
 
I have enough points to last me out. Though I have another 3 big twins waiting to be restored.
They very rarely need changing.

( we ) Not that far apart in technology, in actuality. Though has limits, material science changes on a regular basis. Actual points contact hardness, electrical and mechanical is amazing, from times past. Not so certain any points made in the last decade holds true on that quality performance, not like the manufacturer will be rewarded financially with long serving consumable product, ie "points".

Not just points, the whole mechanical advance is a medium maintenance application. Given the low year on year road riding then points/advance will suffice. Be a trade off however, motor performance would be fortunate to be optimal on a points based system, stuck with whatever the springs and weights exhibit for a "curve". Not a significant factor for some, others an optimal motor will find the points replaced with a tunable system. j

I'm surprised how many clever fuckers there are on this forum, a lot of the time I don't have a fucken clue what you are talking about.
Don't stop on my behalf though.

I say just keep the Dual Point system. Good for 8000rpm and easy to fix on the side of the road with some sand paper and a screw driver.

Keep a spare Condenser - Never know ;o)

Biggest issue I had with my 70 SF0 Ignition was that she was susceptible to Water. Insure you use a Dry Bead Compound on the Distributor Cap and Drill, say a 1/8th inch hole in the bottom of the Cap to drain Moisture out of it. - She will Start after a Water Pressure Wash .
