750 SF1

Miguel,

Very nice, and it appears that it's an unmolested bike.
Left handlebar switch has been replaced with a later version.
Original Bosch item would look nicer IMHO, with a period correct turn signal switch added if required.
Not many like that turn up, price is reasonable.

HTH Gerald

BTW, it's just 750 SF

Hi Miguel,

It's a lovely bike and the price is right. It certainly doesn't want any sort of restoration and must be left like that. (apart from those horrible indicators)

If you are loosing some properties with age, buy some houses and you'll find another wife.

Paul

That looks like a nice find for the money, the 6150 frame number is about 150 before mine which I understand makes it a late 1971 build and very similar.

Hi Kickback (sorry, don't know your name)

Nice SF that you have. I noticed that the forks on your bike are swapped over, just as on my # 5393.
I was going to change the forks over during winter, but not sure now if that is not the way they left the factory.
My SF has been apart, so what ever happened in the past is not known to me.

Regards Gerald

Hi Gerald,
I'm a recent arrival to world of Laverda, I'm learning but the finer points of the fork specification are beyond my knowledge yet. Mine is 6313 with matching engine number and came from one owner in France, to one in the UK then myself. I think apart from a re-paint, re-chrome, replica pipes and re-wired electrics (and indicators) it's specification is fairly original ... but I'm sure people with far more knowledge can advise about the forks?  :)

Cheers,
Greg

No, the turn signals are aftermarket items made by Hella. Here in Germany they are a legal requirement for bikes registered after a certain date. Opinions vary on necessity and looks, but IMHO they are more appealing than say BM troubleyou turnsignals of the era.

So I see that those turn idicators put of the handlebar are original don?t they?

Hi Miguel, indicators on motorcycles were not yet mandatory in many countries in 1973, before you mount any, find out if it is necessary for approval. The look without indicators is so much nicer on our Laverdas.
Ciao, Gert

Laverda didn't fit indicators before the 1973 models.

None of my Laverda have indicators but I'm lucky to live in a country where there are no legal test such as T?V, MOT etc...
For the moment.

Ideal for hand signals is my Falcone where there's no return spring on the throttle, so you can hand signal left, and right.

I bought my '74 3C in 1986, it did not have indicators fitted (and was legal as such as NSW didn't have rules requiring them until 1976, I think). I assume that a DPO had removed the ones originally fitted.

After some years of attempting to use hand (and foot) signals I decided to reinstall indicators, as they are a basic safety item and gave me a better chance of surviving travelling on road. It was no big deal, the wiring was already there, the hardest part was finding a blinker can. Got a used one off a GSX1100 from the wreckers.

Cheers,

bazzee

Are we a little off topic here?
