750 Tyres

Another tyre thread. Great.

I just put new tyres on my 750s, now it's running properly at last.
I wanted narrow, by modern standards, tyres. 100/90/18 front and 110/90/18 rear. Also, I didn't want something that looked like a cut slick.

Well, the choice wasn't easy because there' aren't many tyres out there that fit the description. I ended up with a set of Metzeler Roadtec 01 which seem to fit the bill quite nicely. I still need to try them but they'll be fine for the use the bike will be seeing.

I have a set of Metzeler Lasertec on my much used SF2, 100/90 on the front and 120/90 on the rear. I love them. Much easier than the Dunlop 501s I used for years.
When time comes to change those, the 120 has been discontinued.

It seems choice is pretty limited on classic looking skinny tyres.

Not a bad selection in your preferred sizes being available in Norway, surely better too in mainland Europe.
My personal choice is 110F/120R on 18" but my road SF has 17" now.

ContiClassicAttack is available in 90/90/18 front and 110/90/18 rear - would this be an alternative? The front tyre is even more skinny than your present one ...

I've heard very positive feedback from those who tried - I plan to try them on my 3c before long.

They are brilliant by all accounts. Tyre preference is very personal though, one man?s heaven is another man?s hell.

I agree Jo .
I have ContiRoadAttack CR 2    100 size , and  110 ContiClassicAttack on rear on my 1200 .
Work very well , the front gives good positive feel.
I'd be more than happy to take to the track with them.

Yes, but seeing Attack written on the side of the tyres of a 50 year old bike just doesn't seem right.
They should be called Cool Cruise.
