Yeah, like a late Friday autumn evening with serious rain coming down, a friend asked me if we should ride from Copenhagen in Denmark to Groningen in Holland, take a walk, eat something, and ride back. Sure! So we did. A great trip.
I very seriously dislike the self proclaimed "knowledgable" or "Sir This and That, or moneymakers pointing out in mags or on the web, the "trend" for something I've been doing for years and years, to be the new "scoop" to invest money in. "Oh! This Laverda has been pissed on by a famous English actors cat, and it's been awarded 9 times "best in show" in front of a pub at XXXXX (choose yourself), so it's worth 100.000.000 gbp".
I puke at that.
The guy who bought my old Laverda RGS many years ago, told me that he really wanted it bla. bla. bla. And he went on to sell it asap to make money on it.
I don't think it brings up a demand for more spares being made and the like. They are going to be garage queens at best, or worse: being shown at shows on a red carpet, presented to a paying public, not being ridden and not needing spares in the long run.
It makes life harder for those of us who like what we have or are trying to get, for a genuine reason. Doesn't natter if it's Laverda's or something completely different. It's the same mechanism at work.
