Atlas Questions

It looks like I've found a way to run a Barometer, plus every other gadget I could ever want. The old phone I was using on both my bikes as a GPS died a week ago, and I was not happy paying for an expensive replacement. Then I saw this. They pair with your phone safely in your tank bag via Bluetooth and display on the bars anything your phone can do, plus if your phone has voice commands, you can control that display by voice. Plus, it's much cheaper than another phone.

I am a bit sick of the highly decorative but not so structural plastic bashplare standard on Atlass. Mine just broke where it's bolted on at its front mount, so it's time to look for something more structural in alloy. I was thinking a Yamaha Ténéré 700 twin bashplate would be a good starting point, but as I have no idea if it will fit, it seems a bit crazy to buy one of the $500 to $600 replacements made by the aftermarket, a bit of overkill. So I bought a standard model second-hand bashplate for $100, and going crazy on it to get it to fit seems more sensible, especially with free postage.

The other local Atlas owner, Yogi, put in loads of work going through the huge AFAM catalogue finding sprockets that fit other bikes and Atlas. He sent me a spreadsheet with that data. I also got a worn-out rear sprocket from another owner, Andy from New Zealand, so I could compare it with what I bought to confirm a fit. It's great to see owners of these rare bikes helping to keep them on the road.
