Barbecue thread (all welcome)

You inspired us today, I made beef casserole. Haven’t made it for ages, de glaze the pan with balsamic vinegar gives it an extra zing ! Nice work Chriso
Sweet.

Ya wont get that at a Truckstop............windows down when on those toasties CK!!
I know, I fried the SPAM slices. Did you know that SPAM is loved in Korea, the batter and deep fry it, and make all sorts of things from it.
My daughter calls it Shit Packed As Meat.

I remember having breakfast at a roadside greasy spoon café in UK a few years ago. The menu was full of fancy named dishes. I can't recall exactly what the dish I chose was called, but it was something like "Parisienne ham fritters" so I figured it was worth a try. When it arrived on my table it was slices of lukewarm spam on toast with baked beans slopped all over it. They pulled out all the stops with presentation though because it had a sprig of limp parsley on top. Nice.

Glad you enjoyed that Nadia, it is one of the all time classic bits of footage as far as Im concerned (y) (y)
I think I saw an interview once with Keith talking about his guitar inspirations and if I’m correct he named Muddy Water’s as one of his all-time heroes especially with regards to Muddy Water’s improvisational style.

Brian Jones played a huge role in "awakening" mainstream America to Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf and many other blues masters, particularly those recording with Chess Records in Chicago. Muddy especially was forever grateful to Jones and the Stones in general but whenever I watch that video from The Chequerboard Lounge (long after Jones passing) I always feel he is "tolerating" Jagger on his stage.

Interesting that you say that, as I have also had that sense of “just tolerating” however, there is a very different feeling towards Keith Richards if I could make that observation.

Hi Nadia, I’m not familiar with Toby Lee I must admit 🙃
How did a 17 yo come to own a early Firebird? 🙂
Wow Rowdypat that took some serious social media snooping but from what I can gather and I quote: Posted on Facebook on March 13th 2022 Toby Lee Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/tobyleeguitar?ref=content_filter:) “This week I'm rockin' out on the 1964 Gibson Firebird - it's such an amazing guitar! Huge thanks to Mick (it appears to be Mick Box from Uriah Heep) for lending it to me and I hope you are back on your feet soon Mick!”

That looks like a Michellen style dinner to me add some Etta James and the smell of gasoline, and there you have it 👍
