Battery for a 1976 3CL

Hello all,
The battery on my 76 3CL has given up the ghost, it's a budget battery {MF} and it's not the maintenance free type. I'm asking the forum for recommendations for a replacement, I got slightly bogged down with all the choices available online but most of the applications I've found are for a 76 Jota. I confess I am no expert but I would imagine that the battery fitment for the 3CL and the Jota are the same for 1976. The battery that seems to be the right one for the motorcycle is a C60-N24-A Motobatt Motorcycle Battery-part no-MBTX30UHD. The battery I have removed measures 175mm wide/120 depth/170 high, the motorcycle has an alternator upgrade. I am quite sure that the battery I've mentioned is the correct one but I wanted to be sure before ordering!

I have had good results with Motobatt previously and had no hesitation putting a MBTX30U in my RGS. Plenty of starting power and holds its charge well, which is typical of AGM batteries generally. Probably about 5mm too high in the RGS but your compartment size will be different, as Paul says use whatever will fit but I prefer the biggest I can.
I believe the only difference with the HD suffix is that the case colour is black instead of yellow, and may be a little more expensive in certain shops 😉
 
The Odyssey has escaped my attention and looks like a good possibility? I’ll have a look on the net today after work. Thanks to everyone who has suggested it!
 
Odyssey priced themselves out of the market in Oz, I use Decca. They're made in the USA for Harleys and handle vibes very well.
 
Thank you for contributing to the post. Is there is a argument that the traditional lead terminal posts stand can too high which can be a problem on vibratory machines {all of mine}. I haven't used a Motobatt type battery but the terminals look neat and tucked away. The Motobatt's also have double terminals for each pole which looks like it might be handy.

Last battery I would buy, try as hard as I can to avoid buying anything made in China even if it costs me way more

Recently bought a billet steering column for my 1950 Chevy pickup made in Perth, cost me $2,250 AUD, could have bought similar unit ex China for $850 AUD
Paid the extra to support an Aussie product, fuck China
 
I subscribe to your pattern of thoughts 100%. This is not the place to spout off on the matter but like you I prefer to buy something properly made and avoid all that land fill.
I don’t really know how to give a proper answer to your comments but there will be many on here that would turn the clock back 35 years.

It’s very difficult to avoid ALL Chinese products, such as the devices we all use everyday day to post here. Or the televisions we use to watch MotoGP or even the European brands that outsource their production there. I’m talking to YOU BMW and KTM! But we can do our best to keep it to a minimum.
BTW, I rode in a Chinese MG yesterday and it was a rattling POS!
