WOW, I can only echo the sentiments of those that attended! Vicco's all now back home high n dry with the slippers on in front of the fire sipping on a Tawny Port to warm the bones.
A 3,800 klm rnd trip for us with 10 confirmed riders half pulling out, two of those along the way (the words of my old football coach ringing in my ears (ppp/ppp) . The trip didnt disappoint with a bit of spannering along the way, lots of laughs and plenty of Beer. The route was carefully planned around great secondary backroads passing through small towns with old pubs (thirsty work man handling the Breganze beasts) We aimed to punch out rnd about 400k's a day. Hotel accommodation was booked in advance and after a nice meal the banter would start, until the Barmaid's reminded us to go to bed! Once we hit NSW the dead wombat count started climbing up into the high teens (per day) the price ya pay for short legs hey!
Jugiong was were we had Laverda royalty join the Posse, (TTW/MO) Man were we late for the rondevous (3hrs) Expecting a good dressing down we were greeted with a smile and a shrug of the shoulders "best get a beer Davey" Fair to say the wick got turned up for the dash across the range into Taralga before the skippy's came out to play!
Tom and his tom tom guided the Posse for the rest of the trip, you legend you. Our 3rd day on the rd was our driest, Byalong valley way it was. Thanks for the heads up BK.
The rest........well you get the idea.
Big thanks and appreciation goes to Bruce and Nazz for sharing their slice of paradise with us (and the sacrificial lamb and Beefie) ya bloods worth bottlin mate ( but maybe after the grogs worn off ) Your new project in the workshop is going to be speccy, cant wait to see the end result!
To QLD LAVERDA CLUB, thankyou for your efforts in setting up the camp site and manning the Tongs all w/end. Pulling bikes out of the Kalang river, and transporting them back across in a trailer. The visit/stay was all to short, but the Journey was a Hoot.
If you have never attended one of these rallies, then you are missing out. In my eyes it has turned into a must do, and if Bruce gives the Nod again.......... Get along! You know it makes sense.

Sorry to have missed the event. Even if I'd got myself and the bike organised to go, I'd have probably had to pull out at the last minute because I got crook. On the road to recovery now.

Rob (motoddrob) had many tales of his world travels on Laverda motorcycles from back in the day. Big respect.
His mate Simon was always there helping out wherever he could. His youth and strength was a great asset to the rally and his Ducati Steetfighter V4 looked (to me) pure evil.

Cheers Mark, great to catch up. Sorry I had to cut and run but took the opportunity as I needed to get back here as I have to take the mrs on holidays (ya know, short leash)
If I remember when I get back I might chuck in a little travelogue on the trip on a separate thread so can be ignored as required I see there were a few other long rides, so I am sure the Vic boys could tell a story or 2 as well!?Suffice to say the AE ran faultlessly the whole way............

Struggled with the quick shifter. Fantastic effort from the Qld club organising the event and hats off to the Viccy and NSW clubs braving the weather. Great catching up with the guys from the past and meeting a bunch of guys for the first time.
A brotherhood for sure.

don't pay the ferryman ,, don't even fix a price ,, until he gets you to the other side ........
After fording across that bloody Kalang river, unaided on Thursday, I was more than happy to wait for the ferryman to get my SeFFie and I to the other side, dry, on Tuesday.
