Brembo caliper adapters

Geez, you guys are really making it difficult for yourselves...

The 300mm Guzzi discs are paired with the same P08 calipers as the Laverda, their relative positions are identical. Suitable Guzzi discs have the same offset as for the Laverda wheel (Cast wheel Guzzis have larger disc offset).

It is agreed that the caliper lugs are 108mm apart. Because the disc offset remains the same, the caliper lugs remain on the same plane as before. The lugs lie parallel to the fork stanchion centreline. Disc diametre is to be increased from 280 to 300mm which means the calipers need to be spaced 10mm further from the axle and rotated a bit.

All that is now required to know is the distance between the fork centreline and the lug axis as well as the distance from axle centre to bottom lug centre.

Position the lugs as a set 10mm outwards from the axle and rotate them around the axle and away from the fork leg until a substantial distance between what will end up as the bolt holes appears, maybe around 15-20°?

I'll now go rummage through my stash to find a 35mm fork leg for a P08 caliper and measure the required dimensions... fuckin' 22:40, I must be crazy.

OK, now 23:00, started Fusion, here's what I've come up with. This is the "rear" side, for LH slider with calipers mounted behind leg.

Steph, If you would like to supply your address via PM, I'd be happy to print it out in plastic and send it to you to check fit. Easy enough to fettle once one knows where one stands.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! ;)

Everything correct!

My intention is to have a real good 3D Model!

Piet, can you send me your models, please?

Love the crazy people here... (y)

Roland,

The "overlap" immediately increases, drastically. If milled from 7075 or 6060 aluminium, I seriously doubt it will suffer in any way. Too lazy to dig out my old books and calculate that as well...

Reckon it could do with a couple of nice holes actually. ;)

Just realised I've included quite a boo-boo, will revise tomorrow.

Hi Roland,

Quick drawing
I hope this helps you

The exact position of the lugs on the fork leg is not simple to measure precisely.
I will do my best.

Hi Piet,

Thank you very much for your late-night efforts :)

FYI those 300mm adaptors will be mounted on a Ceriani 38 fork.
(but same outside legs dimensions as a 35 I guess)

Yes, I have compared the 35 and 38mm fork legs, outside dimensions are identical.

Part is on the printer at this very moment... ;)

And this matches perfect!
Now the pad for the 280mm, direct mount, is placed very well on the rotor.

Very pleased with this now!

Stay tuned!
