Couple of comments arising from the thread......

Both Ron and Yogi were reinstated on the Laverda Forum quite some time ago. Ron reappeared initially briefly after the suspension was lifted, then went silent. Yogi I gather has chosen not to return, I saw a post from him on Facebook the other day offering all his Laverda's for sale, the ad indicated that none of them are presently road registered.

For Nadia's Guzzi 750 only being suitable for shorter riders, when MartyMoose visited my wife and I in western Canada, I lent him the use of a couple of bikes. The 79 Laverda 1200 for a proper tour of western Canada, and a then nearly new 2013 Guzzi V7 Special. At 6 foot 9 inch + I think Marty was more comfortable on the Guzzi V7 then the Laverda 1200 even if his legs were sticking out at 90 degrees straight out the sides, still makes me smille thinking of watching him in my rear view mirror as he topped the poor little Guzzi out at 160, 170 kph or however fast it would reach, as I was disapearing into the distance on a much much faster bike..... I will have to try and dig out a photo of Marty on the little Guzzi.....

the comments about the quality of this forum also were great to read, we have been running now since 2001, now sort of a world wide social club of sorts, I have met members all over the world over the years. Always a great experience. Always great for the hospitality and the local knowledge. An aging group, Laverda's do not seem to be attracting very many of the younger crowd. For many of us in our heads our Laverda's are still the modern high performance bikes they were when they were new and we were younger. For others the Laverda's are getting retired as the riders age out. And some like me who still has three Laverda triples but also a couple of the latest and greatest in modern highest performance bikes, where while the Laverda triples still get used, just not as much anymore. There are also still some here that use their Laverda's as their primary motorcycles. In many countries, including Australia, an active social scene revolving around interesting motorcycles like Laverda's and other now vintage bikes, and interesting people

We have only had a few female members over the years, Nadia, you are a breath of fresh air, feel free to stick around, and I hope you do. Friendships are here to be made.

Dear Paul and all

Thank you for the warm welcome and apologies for not responding sooner.

I understand you are the founding member for this wonderful bunch of reprobates whom I must say have been very helpful and supportive to me. I came to this site by way of a very sensible recommendation/rescue from a Ducati site where I had been trying to find an old friend as you have read.

I have been visiting my friend Graham, and he has given me permission to share some photos with you all.

my friend Graham getting ready to take me for my very first ride in a proper sidecar. In my wayward youth I had swung for sidecar racing but this was my first “Driving Miss Daisy” experience in a WLA 1942 Harley Davison Flathead

Just to finish off a great Sunday Graham has given me permission to post pictures of my favourite bike, of his and his bloody killer Laverda.

The Ducati is Graham’s 900 SS Desmo 1982 model this bike was the bike we toured a great deal of Australia on in the 1980’s and the second picture you would all know is a picture of my nemesis bike the Laverda Jota 1981 with Corrillo Conrod’s and Ross Racing Pistons. (I really don’t like that bike) but love the Ducati nearly as much as my Moto Guzzi V7 ll 🤣

Sorry I didn’t get to catch up with you on the Canowindra weekend - I had family from QLD visiting but will keep an eye out for the next weekend.
