Cars and bikes I’ve come across in my travels

There is one of those sat in the residents multi storey car park where I live, hasn't turned a wheel since covid. Used to be two elderly people cosseting it now an again but they haven't shown up since that time.

The Black Swan at Ockham, close to the A3/M25, Jct 10 intersection. They hold a Classic Cars and Motorcycles Breakfast Meet, every second Sunday of the month, 08:30 - 11:30 (though, TBH, people start appearing somewhat earlier). Hot drinks and breakfast baps are available, along with a wide range of vehicles from the last hundred years or so, exotica and the ordinary. All driven/ridden to the pub.
We've managed to get quite a few Laverdas there, now and again.

I’m there right now- K7 & K3 are there, lots of waiting around for the conditions to be right. Tommorow isn’t looking good but Thursday might be the best day. I think they are struggling with the health and safety rulings as it’s still open to the public and there’s steam taxi boat still running. I’d love to see K7 running up the lake but who knows? I’ve just met Harry from Harry’s garage ( parked next to me) and he’s a cool bloke who wanted to talk to me about Cagiva Elefants! Anyway the roads around Coniston are incredible and the scenery stunning- cross between Postman Pat & Heartbeat! I’ll try and get more pictures.

😳 Today I learned that there’s a button you can press and it allows you to unignore a forum member…. that in my case, I didn’t even ignore.

For that matter, there must be a button you press to be able to ignore forum members….. best I get busy! 🤣
 
Bluebird K7 on the today- did some shakedown runs under its own steam, sounded awesome but had some mechanical problems- tommorow looking better for some proper runs. If you haven’t ridden a bike around the Lake District, I can recommend you do, very tricky windy roads fab scenery .

Agreed, great place to ride out of peak summer season, I’ve still got use of a R90S that is kept at a friends above Cartmel. Lake District not so great in winter numerous isolated batches of ice form. I once tried to get over Wrynose Pass on a dark December night in 1978 on my T160. Having run out of kinetic energy trying to cross what subsequently transpired to be a more than twenty foot long up grade stretch of ice across the whole road, I tried two other attempts at increased speed. Third attempt still didn’t manage to cross ice and sheared left hand foot peg off as my studded boots also lost grip. Memories of things one did to reach girl friend and the comfort of the Three Shires Inn.
