Cars and bikes I’ve come across in my travels

Told this story before. There used to be a Car Workshop in a rundown area in Sydney near a huge railway yard and Chinatown, and I drove past just about every day and noticed a crazy, odd-looking gadget parked just inside the door, a Ner a car. This was around the time when Centre Hub steering was the big thing in 500cc racing, and seeing it on a bike from around WWI caught my attention. The shop is long gone, replaced by high-rises; the rail yard is also gone, replaced by the billion-dollar Darling Harbour development; Chinatown is still there. I wonder what happened to that Ner a car. Never seen another.

I reckon there's a lot more narcissistic bullshit in that orange man than anyone can imagine, and what we've seen so far is the tip of the iceberg.
Hopefully the November mid-term senate election will rein him in a bit. But my concern is that he'll fudge the result for his own benefit.

I also have a strong foreboding that he'll somehow manage to re-jig the system to stay in power as dictator for life, just like his mates Putin, Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping. He's already making noises to that effect and has started his campaign for the next election by selling red caps that say "Trump 2028" despite the fact that a third presidential term is barred by the US constitution. Blokes like him don't just go away when their term is up. If America does manage to get rid of him, it'll only be done with him being dragged kicking and screaming from the white house. It's hard to believe the idiot still has loyal supporters after all the horrible stuff he's done to his own country and the rest of the world. It seems to me the only positive thing about his presidency is his age. He's 80 years old, so hopefully he'll drop off the perch before he causes WW3.

It's nigh on impossible to keep a lid on the almost unanimous bad sentiment regarding the current state of global chaos caused in no small way by 'he who cannot be named' and his 'cronies who cannot be named', because we are all affected by it. Most punters on here trade - or would like to trade - in some way with 'the country that cannot be named'. We all have to buy fuel for our motorised lives. It creates pissed off people. I agree it's not great when we all start bellyaching about it on here all at once, but it's hard not to have a whinge. Unfortunate for those who see no evil - but c'est la vie. Once it gets too ugly our dedicated moderators step in and cull the convo.

You see, the world is divided into two categories: those with a loaded gun and those who dig. You dig.

When you're shooting, you don't tell your life story.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The real life of the world of political predation—everything else is just smoke and mirrors.

I bought this thing a while ago. It's a Zero DS 7.2. Not really a sports bike, more of a commuter with some off-road capability. It is indeed pretty stealthy and bloody quick from a standing start. It's great for nipping around the city but it chews through the battery at highway speed. 80 kph isn't too bad but if you take it up to 110 on the freeway the range is pretty limited.

Range is claimed to be about 150km, but you'd only achieve that in economy mode below about 60kph. Practical range is more like 100km. That's OK for suburban trips though.

Say,anybody heard anything about the Tom Swift Electro-Cycle fiasco ? That is,that LiveWire thing that
Harley Davidson foolishly brought to market some years ago.
How could they possibly imagine—given the typical Harley owner's profile—that this model would work? And how did those marketing incompetents, who were already at work back then, manage to kill off the Sportster only to resurrect it in such a hideous way?
Things are going from bad to worse at Harley, and it’s not the first time.
As someone who used to buy *Easyriders* magazine some forty years ago and has always loved the brand, it really gives me a pang of sadness.
