Ceriani 38mm

Funny enough, that job was 2002 and I could find the tool immediately among my 'weird stuff' lathe tool department... Bit of an improvised thing but it did the job, a bit of hss welded to a bms square bar which went in the tool holder as it's shown here, cutting to the right. IIRC the M1R had a sort of double stepped bore for the seal and the dust cap, hence the profile.

SF's never came with 38mm forks. They were 35mm's Ceriani - But you can convert to 38's as did Beganzie on some SFC's. The Breganzie factory did it after introducing the Jota Triple back in 72/73 and noted the extra weight of the Triple was hard on the triple tree.

Yes you can can do it. I believe Ceriani and Marzocchi made 38mm forks for both Berganzie and the Ducati Darmah back in the day.

Either way converting from a 35mm to a 38mm Triple Tree is very expensive and does not have any performance value on either a SF or SFC Breganzie in my opinion.

That's unless your SF 35's are beyond rebuild; so go ahead and invest in 38's.

No doubt 38's can give you an advantage if you are heavy into racing a Bregazie SF or SFC with a wide heavy tire but you will never a notice a difference on either for anything else.
