Circumnavigation of Oz take 2

Marty Grahame and the entourage have made it to the Gorge but don’t have reception so they are currently replacing their fluids at the pub there as I understand it 👍

Wow, what a crazy couple of days! 35 degree heat, hard on bikes and riders, but we are sipping a cold beer at the Kimberly hotel in Falls creek. Katherine Gorge is spectacular, we headed out early as it was a 500+ km day to lake Argyle. Public holiday Monday for some stupid horse race meant every thing was closed in Katherine. Luckily Grahame had bought a packet of iced vovos, sorted!

The scenery down through to Gregory is spectacular, we pulled in into the servo to find an it open, and some bacon and eggs went down well. After that the heat set of in. Timber creek for fuel, and a wrestle with the 24/7 Bowser card machine....... The scenery just got better, the last 40 km into lake Argyle was amazing.

Found the caravan park which was fully booked, but they found us a patch of grass, and dinner and beers.

This morning was a ride down to the Ord river dam, and the customary drag race. 1/4 mile dam walls are fine.
Got to the turnoff back to kunnanurra, after 20km on reserve, and pulled the 5 litre reserve off, 2 litres in my bike, 2 into Grahame's, and I made it to the bowser with 200ml to spare. With the heat set in again, a short day to halls creek was the call. Again, the scenery was spectacular, and we pulled in to find the entire town booked out. The manager took pity on us and found a couple of spare rooms, happy to pay for A/C and a comfy bed

Tried to take some photos of the scenery between Katherine and halls creek, it doesn't do it justice, it is just huge and amazing. When I have better internet I will post photos

Hey Marty, you can bring some of that heat down to Walpole with ya. Have just had 4 days of continued rain hail and storms.
Burning lots of wood to keep warm Hopefully it'll rain itself out for a dry visit for you guys.

Hey Terry, its coming your way!!

Hey Terry, its coming your way!!
Had a foretaste last night, beautiful day today but expecting it to roll in this evening and to last till Saturday.
First job of the day is to split heaps of redgum and stash by the back door. Like you, powering through the wood to keep warm.

Bad head wind, went onto reserve at 239, pulled over to top up at 253, made it with 2.5 litres into both bikes. Pulled at at the campsite early before it got too hot. Bit of maintenance this Arvo before gieci gorge in the morning, then Derby
