We have a thing in Oz called Long Service Leave, after 10 years of continuous work we get 3 months of pay, base line salary as a paid holiday. Not sure Marty has or is using this. In the building game, this money was levied via Building Projects council fees. A percentage goes into this fund. It's approx $4000. Lots of Industries have this in awards in Oz.

Yep, I was self-employed from 20, moving about constantly. I was a foundation member of that long Service scheme in 1975 as it became an Independent entity, what used to happen was you might have a job for 9 years and 11 months and strangely you would get retrenched just before 10 years losing it all. The Government created a faired scheme where that didn't happen. And now the rub, the scheme collected so much money, Billions over the years a while back the Government dipped into some of it and transferred it to Consolidated Revenue, reducing the schemes investment ability considerably.

Hi Phil, this is on the same 750 you rode to the settlers arms for lunch, back around 20 years ago! Time flies
Good work on the rebuild, as I recall it had tremendous torque but struggled to get much past 65mph back then, I imagine you'll need sustained speeds better than that to make your target daily distances, good memories, thank you, hope we'll meet in person again before too long.
It was interesting back then before the era of cell phone maps to find my way back to your place with only a vague idea of the geography and not even a paper map. When I think about that it's good to understand the camaraderie that obsession with this obscure brand can bring!

I just looked into as close to a circumnavigation of Canada as is feasible. Not many accessible roads in the north. I came up with a 20,000+ km route and I'm still not getting to all the extremities. Probably a 30 day adventure without too much visiting along the way.

Great plan Marty!

How do you organize the planned oil changes? Does the support vehicle take everything you need with it, or do you handle this with local service points?

I looked at your route and see, that you leave out VIC and ACT. Aren't they offended there ..?

Cheers,
Jo

damn hard to offend the ACT, that is where all the totally useless politicians gather to work out how to fleece more money out of the Australian public into their own coffers

Don't worry about Vic & Act Jo, they're only a hop skip and jump from Marty!
Look at the great swathe of ignored country to the north - CQ, NQ. FNQ etc and of course we're offended:devilish::LOL:
Only joking Marty been discussed before and you can't go everywhere. Looks a great trip, will still try and work out where to give you a wave as you pass through somewhere in Western Qld...............;)

Looking at your post Jo, I see that you left Tasmania out of the list of states/territories that Marty isn’t visiting. I’m more offended by your omission than by Marty choosing to avoid us.

Cheers
Cam
Oh, caught! Now I have to figure out how to get out of this again ...
:D

I'm still interested to know how Marty plans to organise his oil changes!
