Spoke to the Dalgety pub, they are already booked out. I spoke to Paul at the Delegate pub, he is currently booked out with the victorian police doing the border thing, but will know in the next couple of days if they are leaving. I will keep you posted.

Imperial Hotel at Bombala is a go, spoke to Steve, I have booked for 12, he can take 14. $130 each twin share, includes dinner up to $40 and cooked brekky. Single room $150. If you want to come better be quick!

Hello Marty,
I really do enjoy your posts with all your rigorous planning.. no, really I do..:)
Its just that they take me back to the ol' days and I smile.. in those times we would simply know where we were leaving from, and where we would end up.. rough calculations were 120K per hour.. so we would say OK, here to BFN..., be there at 4:00 for example, and away we would go.. hopefully no breakdowns etc. and there we would be.. CLQ was particularly good at these, and most runs almost faultless.. mind you, Laverdas on long runs.. think 1980/90s..;)
One memorable run though, was one of our biggest to PI (close to 20 bikes and many years later,). One of the 'young blood' newer lads had family on the way, and they offered a family table meal and celebration, which we gladly accepted.. next morning, young mate has a 'shortcut' as we leave town and he proceeds to lead us on an extensive tour of some shitty forest roads, only to end up at 'ROAD CLOSED'... by the time we rejoined the highway, we were just 20Ks south of town, and had been riding for close to 2 hours.. needless to say, Cam Moffat (The Fossil) and I, kinda took a good look at each other, run times calculating in our heads, and away we went.. funniest part all day was that we knew where we HAD to be to achieve the arrival on Thursday (Day 1) on the Island, but a couple of the lads.. young mate on his classic 3CL (who shall remain nameless... Labor) and his BBF Ronnie (constant blow bys on his Daytona) pushed on ahead, but then were sadly outside the occasional pub asking.?? ...:sneaky: Shake of the head from us and on we go.. suffice to say that we made the time up, and a great trip it was too.. but that's how it was.
Love your run captain plans though pal..
Good riding to all Laverdaisti

Craig and Chris Cutler have dropped out, so I need to fill 2 more spaces otherwise there is a deposit to pay. Check with your mates and round up a couple of extra starters

Hi Marty, what route changes are there with the new accommodation. I like to carry a handwritten route so I don't end up at the wrong destination, all those towns and pubs down there that start with the letter T. Testing your twin. Whos coming now.

I am still bushed, back soon. I need to do a fork oil change and emulator adjustment. I watched Phil the Wire build a new loom on my bike once. He started with, I think 7 wire bundle of box trailer wire in a sheath that ran from a mitre past the front of the bike to a mitre past the rear end, snipped a few holes in the sheath to pull single wires to various spots around the bike and away he went. After a few hours of me watching him squatting next to the bike, I offered him a milk crate, that he refused. It took 10 hours of solid squatting before he finished it. He had better knees than me. You know testing a new build on a long ride is heroic, but I am not saying anything.

Build it right, no worries, Vince. Glad to hear a pro takes that long - many a long hour spent wiring my SFQ up - and I've got the number of wires and connections down to an absolute minimum. Have to back track now and then as I add stuff and realise I have fitted connectors and want to sheathe a bunch of wires, or need to create an 'offshoot' with a double wire into a connector (eg, from brake light connector under seat to feed to a not yet created rear brake light switch).

Kwaka instruments and idiot lights had 1x12 pin plug, 1x6 pin plug and 1x3 pin plug (21 wires/pins but a couple were empty pin holes - and I've tossed the water temp gauge :giggle:) - I've reduced that to 2x4 and 1x3 pin (11 wires and pins). Ended up wiring indic idiots as left, red (port) and right, green (starboard) in a 4-light panel. Temp and neutral lights repurposed. The other two will be an LED voltmeter light and a hi-beam indic.

Need to sort out who is starting from where. Tom will be your road captain from Heathcote, and I’ll lead from Mulgoa. Hopefully we will all meet at Nowra at the same time. Let me know where you would like to start from.

Let‘s hope there is zero precipitation on Saturday morning as the numbers may well change if judging by the lack of the Nth Beaches Mafia at last nights club meet... yep there was some rain about and well we know those from the Nth Beaches have an adverse to rain... but at least we had a good roll up to the car club meet oops Lav club night ..Vince had a Laverda shirt on and there was one Lav out back but yep it was a club meet... the sole Redax powered 180 torque monster outside the perfect wet bike.... as it most certainly doesn‘t mind a bit of rain ..good shakedown run for the weekend me thinks
