I’d forgotten that debacle Brett😂😂😂
All settled in our lovely room after beating the hoards by a sizeable time, just resting my eyes for a minute only to be woken and asked to give up our room 🤔
Ahhhh too funny
Hey Maurice you coming this year?

The main thing I remember was drowning in that thunderstorm 30 minutes before arriving. Great roads great pub great food great weekend away.

Did someone say there is a prize for first there? I’m interested
No doubt the Gelarto would leave us all for dead Cosi, I know you want to be there but you probably have a party planned

I guess Mach speed will need come care. This is the back way to the pub.

It's not exactly a secret, we have gone that way half a dozen times. It's just easy to miss the turnoff from Cooma. My favourite story re this bit of road was heading that way from Jidybine in the opposite direction someone missed a turn after a while the road became dirt, we kept going for a good 50ks before it dawned we were on The Barry Way to Victoria. That's a good 200ks of dirt heading into Victoria beside The Snowy River and not the planned route at all. BTW that's a classic bit of Alpine dirt me and a mate did years earlier, great fun on my 3c till it rained and turned into an absolute nightmare.

The last day heading home was windy as hell for the first 100ks, then sunny and really bloody hot, then it rained briefly, and I was fully cooked by the time we got through Sydney Sunday traffic. And then it was Hard Endro time getting my bike into my shed and not dropping it. By then I was DONE. Apparently my Sister and Hubby saw us cruising out off Gundigi while being followed by that marked Hwy Patrol car after we stopped there for lunch.

I got asked why no Atlas a lot, it's not ready just yet. I need to be more confident about getting home. I also found as there are always hours on expressways it absolutely needs a taller screen as the tiny one from standard produces a massive wind roar that would drive me nuts even with the cast ear plugs in. It's insanely loud, hard to believe how loud. All that talk on local forums about destroyed roads from record rain was not that accurate, there was evidence of plenty of repairs and instead of needing special care it developed into the usual go-as-hard-as-you-like ride, it definitely had some moving happen.

There was one bit of road I had an issue with, I forget its full name but there is Billy in it. Just remembered it's Yango Billy. It's a very tight descent the way we went and I think it's used by the Snowy 2 Hydro bunch for heavy haulage and is in a bad state, very bumpy. Going into one of its first bends I at first missed seeing a huge bump right on an apex when I did notice it I admit I target fixated on it resulting in my front wheel becoming airborne at tip-in. Not good, anyway my downhill confidence ended about then and it was a slow descent from then. I was happy hearing Marty's assessment of my front tyres state heading home, Massive scoloping and warn away sides and a flat spot in the middle, it's a very odd shape now so a new tyre for me ASAP.
