I like a fast ride over the mountain as much as anyone, but I have to say some of the riding demonstrates why the mountain road ends up being closed so often during the TT fortnight.

I know what you mean ..... it`s interesting to watch , but ........ you think you`re going fast , then suddenly someone is right behind you , and he`s going to pass on whichever side there is room to ........... the R6 rider is being ( relatively ) cautious when approaching slower riders from behind .... making allowance for the sudden unexpected movements of some of them ...... but everyone has to put their trust in someone else not doing something silly or unexpected , not to mention keeping one eye in the mirrors all the time ........

I used to be similar on the local bike road, Old Pacific Hwy but it's Policed heavily so it's toned down a lot from years back. I still watch my mirrors a lot. Even so, you can get blitzed on occasion. What does annoy me to the max is you don't notice for 3 seconds and instead of waiting for you to see them and wave them through they pass you really closely in the same lane. And on occasion you get the I am doing the speed limit and you cannot pass me types.

Or my personal favourite the “I know you’ve been following me for ages trying to pass but look how much faster than you I can go on the only stretch of straight road in a gorge of beautiful twisties” types.
