Cool Videos

The year is 1959.  Narration by the one and only Leonard Teale (for the information of  'Homicide' viewers from Australia).  For non-Australian viewers, 'Homicide' was the first locally produced Police TV drama which aired from 1965-73.

Question 1. Identify the track.
Question 2. Identify the race bike - I thought G50 but apparently not so according to comments on YouTube..
Question 3. Is that Terry Dymond in the peaked leather cap at the beginning?

I don't believe its Amaroo. To open and the terrain is all wrong. Looks like a subdivision to me, not a race track.
I think the bike is a BSA single. B31 350 or B33 500 appears to have cast iron barrel and head, not even a Goldie.

My 1st guess was wrong ............... Bingo ............ Mt Druitt!

The ute was a Vangaurd Series 2 by the looks of it, my bet would be the old circuit at Oran Park. In 58 a lot of the Druitt track had been dug up, the ran some sprint races still on the airstrip but the track itself was mostly gone.

Here is a clip from 53 with Sir Jack at Mount Druitt track.

Eeep! Never watched Macau before!

My mail is the old track at the Cross Roads, that is coming from someone who rode there ( so he tells me anyways )

Remember Roger coming back from Macau with big scuffs on the shoulders of his leathers and a gouge in his helmet.

Can't remember if the gouge was from the race or the R&R in Singapore after.

At 3:45 mark, backwards downhill 'stoppie'... never saw that before.

Watch to the end for a few misses.

That's impressive Davo. Though I still have all my fingers after years of modelmaking using table saws to cut very small parts I've trimmed my nails a few times and only once nicking my thumb not enough to bother with a bandage I've been very lucky over the years. I'd like to fit one of those to my saw before my luck runs out!!
