Corsa - this is what happens when they don't get used....

Sad. Hard to see that it was presumably someone's pride and joy for a brief while. Off the road since 1987, and 56,000 miles on the clock!

Bit of spit and polish and it'll be fine!
 
I’m baffled why someone would leave that rotting in a shed for 38 years, but unfortunately it’s not uncommon in certain circles. I’ve visited so many places, particularly farms, and seen all sorts of rare and/or valuable vehicles just left to decay.
It’s also surprising how many Corsas are suddenly popping up for sale in the UK, and so far over 50% of them have been projects for one reason or another. And I know of one other Corsa that’s just been left unrepaired following a minor crash for a decade or more.
 
Did they make red Corsas? That's what colour the paperwork says it should be I think. Lots of useful spares on that bike at the very least. If I needed a head I would buy it at that price.

Yep, I also have one in my garage waiting....in much better shape.... no time however... to many projects....
 
if only it was possible to determine why it ceased to be used????? ignition cover missing? maybe a clue, I have known a Corsa's crank to fail at lower mileage than that (Per Erik Norway, bought the bike new) I sent him a used crank which has lasted in the bike a longer distance, bought from Toddy when in Whytleafe, Surrey. I wonder how many miles in total that crank has done, it is still very good.

I don’t recall seeing new Corsas for sale in red, and this bike is clearly not red and it doesn’t look like it was resprayed black. However, the Corsa was the road going version of the factory TTF1 race bike, which was red, so perhaps a few bikes were offered in red? The ‘Corsa’ I bought from Moto Vechia in 1984 was red, but that was a supposedly ‘special’ bike supplied by the factory for Kevin Hughes to race supported by Motodd. Phil has always commented that in his opinion it wasn’t very special and slower than his own bikes.
Although the bike looks like a Corsa I guess any potential buyer needs to make sure it has all the UK spec engine mods etc.
 
I'm doing my TS for the enjoyment of putting it together with every part repaired, renewed and restored and then to enjoy riding it....when I'm too old to ride 🤔 it won't matter that I lost £4000 on it when it needed to be sold, I can't take my money to the next world...more important that I enjoyed my journey in restoring and riding...these old bikes of all marques are special 😄👍
 
Red Corsa's ?????
is everyone forgetting that a certain well known dealer in the USA was having great difficulty selling Red RGS models, and so resprayed them black and added "Corsa" badges, no CR head, no Corsa cams and pistons, no floating discs, but maybe some holes in the airbox and 4 extra ones in the silencer cans? but I even doubt that. It was'nt long before you could see the red paint at seat rubbing and other areas etc, Corsa's they were not, but they did sell.
