Its an oil filter Jim but not as we know it!
Ugly as it is, any oil filtration is better than nothing I suppose, and please do not call the oil strainer in the sump a filter, it serves only to catch the occasional rock!

yes, Paul, it's the trident that exploded, just good enough to go around the block.
the laverda is indestructible if you respect the maintenance. i did Chartres Assen ,Assen Spa in the same day ,i had forgotten my papers on the coffee table 8 days before.
Now, I know that the basic filtration is sufficient with the km covered without this filter, but it's reassuring to see the oil rise at start-up, and then when driving.

Worked in a mining town (coal) back in the late '70's and a new workmate arrived for a stint from Brisbane.
Took him to the pub after work and standing at the bar I asked what he drank.
He said Cinzano and Lemonade!!
You ever hear a bar go deathly quiet?
Everyone looked over and the barman (a big footy player mate) told him we don't have shit like that here. I think he ended up finding some in the lounge bar but he never came to the pub with us anymore;)

milk stout for me please Hag!

a few years ago I was working in Stirling Scotland and went for a Friday drink at a local boozer before setting off home for an overnight drive back to Kent, I didnt want to be stopping and pissing every two hours so I ordered a gin and tonic, my labourer had a coke and he was a long haired hippy (this was the 70's), as we walked past an alcove of about five burly Scotsmen, one of them sang (to the tune of the happy wanderer) I'm being followed by a brown hatter, brown hatter, brown hatter, I stopped and said "what" he stood up at the back of the round table and was about to physically engage, my labourer had spotted this and was already outside (and getting the van going, a Transit with sliding doors) I retaliated by lifting the table and emptying the contents onto this lot of semi drunken Jocks and just made it to the moving Transit (door open) and jumped aboard, we thought we would get followed (they might have had 300BHP car for all I knew) so quickly went down a side stree and sat there for 20 minutes, never saw them again, got home about 6am, Sat and dad was ready to cook the brekky, brill.

At the international airport we two couples bought 4 bottles of gin, before we boarded the flight to Bali.

First night there we decided to have a gin and tonic party, after a number of drinks, and as had adjoining villas I went back to our villa and thew the outside furniture from our villa went over the wall into their outside area.

So I go next door and the furniture wasn’t there….. WTF?

Well, it seems I threw the furniture over the wrong wall, and into another villa on the wrong side.

I had to get management to open the gate, the wall was too high for me to know the chairs and tables were in the ‘other’ next door villas pool. Management weren’t impressed.

Yet the gin party went on!
