Did a similar thing loading a ‘new to me’ bike onto a trailer. The bottom of the full fairing bottomed out at the top of the ramp, and there it stopped, no going forward or back and me with one foot on the trailer and one on the ground.
With no one to help me, I stood there wondering how the fuck I could get myself out of this pickle. It sort of balanced, and I tried to get my trailer foot on the ground, which is when I realised the bars were now too high for me to keep a firm grip.
That’s when the fucker started to lean over, an the rest is almost history. Same deal Cam, I just had to let go and dive out of the way, and watch it drop.
Apart from a few hairline cracks in the fairing, it survived pretty well.
A couple of weeks later, it highsided and bucked me off going up MacQuarrie pass. That really fucked the fairings, seat and rear mudguard and my day, ‘Cause I had to load it back onto ‘that’ trailer .... but at least the fairing didn’t get caught!
