eBay USA find - less than pristine 3C

The chroming/corrsoion put me off getting this SF2 for next to nothing, all there but in horrendous condition. Inside the engine was immaculate, no corrosion at all. It had been parked up because a primary chain swap hadn't tightened the sprocket nut enough and the spline had massive freeplay with the "it must be fucked" noise. I cleaned out the carbs and it fired straight up after over 20 years in a wet barn. You need time, contacts (network), space, and money to take on these jobs.

If the chrome is buggered beyond repair, you do something like this.

I wonder where this guy got his starting price, fully functioning presentable triples in the states rarely go more than $10k, I'm not far from this bike, I'd go $1k for it , get it running and actually have a beater Laverda

I would do the same. Imagine how many people would be annoyed at a well running rusty Laverda!

I really like this! It needs the front fender lifted and the pipes upswept like a street scrambler. The single seat, luggage and Afrika Corps paint give it a great vibe already.

Looks like the seller had to remove the calipers to push it into his photoshop. $7k and no takers to date, not surprising, even at $3k it would be a risk not knowing how the engine sits.
