Widespread practice is to replace the triplex primary chain by a high-quality, german-made iwis duplex chain, you can send a PM to forum member andychain (he is a top-rank chain expert from UK) to buy one from him.
I run such a duplex chain in my 3C and it does a perfect job.
For the primary chain tensioner OCT supplied me with a refurbished one in exchange for my old one. My old tensioner, as you might see on picture below, had uneven wear and the rubber was hard and brittle like a brick. Enough reason for me to replace it.
A nice trick to replace the primary chain is to unbolt the cover of the cush drive on the clutch sprocket and take the cush rubbers out, instead of fighting with the big nut on the crankshaft. Put the new primary chain in together with the clutch sprocket, finally insert the (new) rubbers and put back on the cover. Easy!
Andychain is also selling top-notch iwis cam chains, highly recommended. (bigthumb) Replacing the rear cam chain slider together with the cam chain looks like best practice to me. With the cam cover off, keep the chain tensioned by the adjuster and unbolt the M6 bolt on top of the chain slider. Hook a wire through the threaded hole on top of the chain slider and pull it out after releasing the adjuster.
Before you open the cam chain, ALWAYS secure both ends with a wire, so it will not drop into the crankcase. You might spool in the new cam chain by connecting it to the old one and turning the crankshaft, but you need to take out the chain guide plate at the underside of the engine to check for the new chain sitting correctly on the sprocket. Ask Grant what will probably happen to your engine when you are not doing this check.
