Evel Knievel Laverda

That bike looks "as delivered" and as I have said from a video that I saw years ago, the Bosch starter, fitted only (maybe) to a pair of prototypes, that was what I saw in the video and that was a jumping bike, there may have been another with Nippon Denso starter, but how would I know? I just doubt it.

All this talk of Evel K reminded me of the program I still have from when I went to see him jump (crash!) a line of buses at Wembley Stadium in UK, probably 1975,  yep ?75-just checked!
It unfolds into a 4xA4 poster.
Also I got it signed by Graham Hill, Henry Cooper, ?coolest ? bit about it ,    Imho

good pic, I haven't seen that one, and it looks like the same day as the static shot above, but the generator is not the odd thing, its the starter, the one in the static picture shows it as a Bosch, and all 18,720 (ish) 650/750  bikes  had Nippon Denso. The earliest  Evil chassis number that I have noted is 1053, that bike cannot be a Bosch starter bike, its too late being the 53rd built!

In 2005 at NALOC Rally Jack McCormack, the man responsible for introducing Laverdas (as American Eagle) to the USA shared that the last he knew of the Knievel bike was that it was somewhere in Montana. Jack was the distributor and it was he who marketed them as American Eagle. Jack provided Evel with the bikes but then Harley stepped in with 'Sportsters' and big money for Evel, you know the rest of the story. 8)
