Front fork 750 SF

[Laverda SLO 750]

Hi.

I wont to change oil in the front fork but when I unscrew the bolt (see picture one) there only get out a few drops of oil. I also unscrew the the bolt on the top of the fork (see picture two) and there is no oil coming out. What I am doing wrong?

Have you tried clearing the drain hole with a piece of wire?
It might be clogged up with crud.
Either that or there’s no oil in there.
If you know what you’re doing, might be worth dropping the sliders and giving them a rinse out. Fit a new set of fork seals while you’re in there and anneal the copper washer when you refit the sliders.

OK manage to let the oil out, but do I put the new oil in thruu this small opening on the top of the fork?

Try removing the big Nut…..

No, remove the fork caps and lift the springs out, to make it easier to refill.

Did you find out why the old oil didn't come out? If there was indeed crud blocking the drain hole, I'd be giving the forks a good rinse!

The oil get out fine when I realesed the screw thats inside the fork (allen screw).

And it vas 280 ml of oil in each fork…according to service book 110 ml to much. As there is 170 ml for each side.

Suits me, I find 15W too hard.
Is yours a 35mm or 38mm fork?

Definitely 35mm judging by the photos.

It is a 1972 model, maybe built in the end of 1971. Framenumber 71xx.

On all damper rod forks I have worked on, spec oil amount has the level about a cm above the damper rod with the forks fully extended (after making sure no air is trapped in there).
