Why do five people watch/ film? I used to pick bikes up with a pickup truck all over London and get a member of the public to give me a push, never had a problem. Only guy I saw ride a bike up a ramp successfully was Bert Harkins, went to pick up his 750 Honda and he said “ I’ll ride it up”- bloody well did as well!I have done this hundreds of times, on all kinds of bikes and have NEVER, well there was one time I didn't lock the trailer gooseneck down to the tow bar. Pushing the bike onto the trailer which see sawed up and made a big ding in the back of my car. Enjoy others' fuckups.
This one?Oh dear…
That sheila from a few months ago could teach them a thing or two
Yep, that’s the one. Still plenty that could have gone wrong but minimised by taking it slow. This one?
This weeks joke
I was watching a vid on American Tractor pulling and saw this tractor and realized this tractor's name is a good description for my Laverda obsession. The run this tractor made broke something in the engine; back to the barn. Not a mistake. A conscious waste of money. Apart from the pleasure...www.laverdaforum.com
The lesson here boys and girls is buy (borrow or steal) a trailer.I have done this hundreds of times, on all kinds of bikes and have NEVER, well there was one time I didn't lock the trailer gooseneck down to the tow bar. ouch i still feel the pain of watching it topple over in slow motion while i was trying to stop the car. Lesson learned strap it down the way you always have ( with no mishaps) and dont listen to someone who thinks they know betterTerry Sage can tell you lots about bikes falling off trailers..![]()
^^ This ^^If your loading onto a ute/pickup truck and your ramps are not arched you are almost certain to fail, it's simple geometry compounded by the laws of physics but mostly it's stupidity. HTH
The arch/curve makes a huge difference.
Nice ramps. I agree the geometry is crucial, but I’d argue that the security of having enough width to put your feet down is the biggest differenceIf your loading onto a ute/pickup truck and your ramps are not arched you are almost certain to fail, it's simple geometry compounded by the laws of physics but mostly it's stupidity.
