Handle bar change recommendations

Have you considered moving the bars up? I made the change a few years back.

make your own, I did using a scrap Ikea table leg (which was seemless CDS tube!)
this is the second set that I have made for TOG, since for about 45 years I have had to have the right bar in a different position to the left, due to a restricted elbow movement following a seriously bad crash on an SF1 in 1973, I no longer need that so have made a set which is a little higher and is just brill for mega mile days or a bit of city running.

WARNING: The more you lower and crop your bars the more likely you will dent your tank on a Laverda when she does her dropsy thing with the side stand. You can weld metal to fork stops to limit the turning radius of the forks but never the less that rubber hold down on the rear of the tank will stretch and the bars will still dent the tank on a sheep dropsy- Solid bolt the rear of the tank to the frame if you can. Common stainless holed gas tank strapping from your local hardware store will do the job.

And it is quite easy to reduce full steering stop angle a bit to suit, if you go the opposite way what this thread is discussing.

Tippie: I agree BUT If you more into Cafe you want lower Bars and rear sets.
No Cafe: Yes tilt the bars up and use the center shifter location.

Still will not prevent denting the tank after she falls over off the side stand ;o(

I use a Renthal "Road Ultra Low" p/n 758-01 on my Jota. Fantastic bars, thick wall aluminium seems to help damp some vibes as well.

Job done, ive sincecre rerouted the left hand cables without having to replace them, instantly feels better, off for a ride to see how they feel
