isn‘t it a farmers jacket for a harvester owner![]()
Thought I had found some rare 70's piece in near perfect shape, but as you point out it is still cool!Good score - anything branded Laverda is cool!
Not to mention Laverda labeled life jackets when they pull you out of the water after flipping your Lionelo Laverda speed boat ...... and Laverda labeled straps on your parachute when they finally discover your body three miles away from your Laverda Falco plane you lost control of and crashed ........The truth is …. for every Laverda caravan purchased, they gave you a free brown jacket… in case the caravan got ran over by a Laverda harvester in winter, then the Laverda 4x4 Ambulance drivers would score the Laverda jacket. Phew.![]()
Our sadly dear departed ex-club Pres Leno had a Red and Green Laverda jacket that required a certain personality type to wear. It was very Christmas-like.
The one weakness, they didn't last? I've still got a Weise Jacket of similar vintage and qualities that I'm still wearing and I hope I don't have to replace anytime soon. I know what you mean though, we want favourite bits of gear to be like an old pair of slippers, always there, always comfortable and doing what they're supposed to do. They always let go in one way or another eventually but whilst they are around they are like trusted old friends.Dunno about brown jackets , but I`ve ended up with brown underpants a few times ..... ( usually by mis-judging an overtake / encountering gravel on a bend ... and so on ...... ) ............
Best jacket I ever purchased was a Frank Thomas Aqua Guard back in the late `eighties .......
Membraned and proofed nylon with body armour and a removable tin foil lining ........ a hood ...... so many pockets I was still discovering new ones about a year later ....... as warm as toast in the winter ...... soggy on the outside in heavy rain , but totally dry on the inside ........
Forget about obtaining a mortgage or paying rent ......... you could almost live in the bloody thing .........
Wish I`d bought three or four at the time so I could still be wearing one now ........
