Would your mother or you have enjoyed it if people would have made fun behind her back about her having cancer? Pretty sure she wouldn't, nor would you.

It is something different to a) laugh about yourself, b) laugh WITH others about your fate or with them about theirs c) make fun of others potentially leathal health situation behind their backs.

Yes we have lost several valued forum contributors recently to cancer, it's not really a joking matter and I say that as a master of bad taste and bad timing.

Watched my mother die of cancer at age 53. My wife’s battle with cancer two years ago was thankfully a positive outcome .

The whole cancer disease is a bitch. But I’d rather joke about it, than wallow in its nastiness thanks.
