Jota Airbox inlets split

I know I'm not the first person to have this issue but the last discussion I found was a while ago so the solutions and spares situation might be different. My right hand side airbox rubber inlet is split. When it's fitted and under compression it's not a big gap but obviously not ideal. I can find spares on eBay for £198 for 3:
- is that the best/only place I'll find them?
- any other alternatives (replace with individual filters on each carb?)
- any suggestions for temporary fix such as suggested glue?

thanks!

AFAIK these 'snorkels' are available in two versions:
- one with a glossy finish, they prone to cracks with age
- then there are those that are rather matt black and made of a rubber-like material (which I would prefer)

I can't judge prices, but would prefer the specialist dealers in your area - after all, they want to live too!

Cheers,
Jo

You can buy another bike for that sort of money.
Since you're in the UK :
I imagine that he'll get some more in. http://www.ducatipaddy.com/page52.html
Otherwise, all Laverda dealers have them and quite a few non Laverda dealers.
No more Slaters.
The internet is your friend when running an obsolete foreign bike.

Paddy does have them listed but out of stock, I'll give him a call, thanks

This may help as a temporary fix...
I bought this stuff and have used it, seems to have held the crack, we'll see how long for. thanks

If people are stuck, I'm sure I have quite a few of the middle (triple, both SF) in perfect condition in my spares box. Happy to sell for A$40 ea (not sure what that is in euro or other). Only prob is I'm in Australia, so shipping could be as much as 30 or 40 euro and an international express bag up to 1kg could probably fit four in it. If anyone's interested I'll look at how many I have and decide how many I want to part with.

If you're in the UK , see if Paddy is getting more in. http://www.ducatipaddy.com/page52.html
Otherwise, Andy Wagner is just a click away https://www.laverda-paradies.de/shop-1000-53-en.html
Or any body selling Laverda parts.

Paul
Paddy said unlikely to get more. Paradies do have them and sell separately, the one I need is 80 euro so I could either suck it up and buy a set on the assumption that others might fail too or take the chance Paradies would have them in stock still that happens. thanks for the reply!

Update: when I put the repaired hose on that the side panel (I guess it's custom like the rest of the Liberator fairing) presses on the hose and deforms it so it doesn't make a good seal and I guess might be why it cracked in the 1st place so I'll look at adjusting that too, maybe a spacer behind the side panel. If I can get the hose sitting properly then I'll just buy a new one. I have found the bike doesn't want to tick over, could be needs carbs tuning after rebuild but presumably air leaks in the inlets won;t help that

You certain that you've got the specific rh one?
Usually, if they don't fit properly, turning them to one side gets them on properly.
They're never going to be leak free.

on a Liberator the bike uses 1200 side panels, IIRC, so the rubbers should fit, the left and centre one's are identical, the RHS one is longer.
dont listen to paul they fit and seal well, fiddly to get the instalation correct, start with the middle one and be sure that the valley on the air box side is corectly located all around, and then the carb side, you can put a cable tie on the carb end if you so wish, then do the left one, same principle and lastly the right, I have seen many carb rubbers kinked were they are not sitting in the holes in the airbix properly.

black silocone can make a good temporary repair to the rubbers, but be sure to scrupulously clean them inside and out with spirit (petrol/ meths/ brake cleaner/ before laying on the silocone
