I should think that turning it outwards would make it fit.
After having taken the side panel off.

it fits OK until the side panel goes on, the inlet is worn so has clearly been like that for a while. I'll try changing the rotation and playing around with it and report back

Or cut that rib off with a razor blade. Or attack the side panel with a grinder.
