Jota Crankcase Sealant

I’ve used 569 which is labelled as a hydraulic thread sealant on the sump plug and primary chain adjuster for years. Top product if a little expensive 😀👍

your primary chain and cam chain are adjusters are held in place by soft copper washers, no need for Loctite.

I used 3 Bond 1104 Amphora Acrylic Case Sealant - Worked for me plus I used it in other areas like putting a one sided bead of it on the engine case to keep water off the points on my 70 SF especially when I washed her or riding in the rain. I also drilled a 1/8th hole in the bottom of the distributor cap to drain any water or vapor that got in there. Sure kept my points dry and never had and issue with case leaks.

It's rather expensive and hard to find.

Always used Loctite 518 on Laverda's. But I can verify it does eventually go bad after about 10 years. It looks OK coming out of the tube when old but will not set up and harden. Had to take a 1968 Triumph Bonneville back apart due to oil leaks. Even with the motor getting hot it would not set and was still soft the same as when applied to the engine cases six months later and hundreds of miles of riding. After getting some new 518, all was OK.
