I've seen this bike and can attest to its quality. Pictures, as always, don't do this stunning bike justice. It also has a DAM clutch actuating lever conversion seen in the pics but not in the text.

Vince.

Has it got a Slater certificate?
If not, with the upper crankcase bored for the 1200 barrels, it's not worth more than £7000.

I cant believe how many 1980 Jotas I have seen lately with that god forsaken fairing on the bikes

Your usual tedious observation there, Paul. Well done - it's a pleasure to read such an erudite observation
It's a humane urge I have to stop aged men spend their life's savings on such a worthless pile of crap when there are nice motorcycles out there.
You have to keep repeating things in the hope that the information will eventually filter down.
A bit like keeping youngsters away from hard drugs.
You'll be shooting Mother Teresa next.

I agree the price is steep but I can't get why you would say it is only worth £7k is this because without the Slater's certificate it is just a tarted up 1200? Some of the original green mirages are now north of £10k not sure if they are selling mind.

This is what the prices should be regardless of whats been done inside the engine, a 10K GBP Laverda should be something of the last decade!

being a 1980 Jota it would have been made in the factory, don't believe Slater's issued certificates on the later Jota's
but may be wrong on that one

those Gazi shocks are not going to last long on a long grab rail bike, the grab rail fouls the adjuster knob and first serious bump that knob is going to be history

I will bet that you would snap it up Paul if offered for your valuation of GBP7000 and it would be on the market in less than a week for GBP9500,
well I would, in less time than it takes a tenner to tumble off the table

No, I sold mine for £1500, needing a lot of TLC and bought my 3C for €3000 needing a huge amount of TLC. And I don't deal in bikes. I should do though but the only times I was between a seller and a buyer, I spent a fair bit of time at it and all for free. LJ knows.

In fact Clem, apart from selling parts bought for not much over the decades helping to finance my extremely expensive hobby, I've never made a penny from bikes. I served as intermediary for LJs SF, for an early 3C you picked up at home to bring back to the UK, my son Matthieu did a round trip of 1000 km to pick it up, an RGS I deposited at your place and an SF in bits carted off to the UK. Not a penny. I could have done but I'm just a motorcyclist. I take pleasure from it and can't imagine making money out of it.

I am uncomfortable with the personal criticisms occurring here. All members of the forum have contributions to make whether you or i or anyone else likes them or not. In general the tolerance shown by members here towards others has been exemplary, which has always seemed to set it apart from other fora (allegedly as I don't spend much time on any others). Please be nice to each other.
