Laverda 100 Sport Parts

Hi All,

Having just bought a 100 Sport, I am hoping someone can help with some parts that are not quite right.

I need a lid for the round cylinder under the seat (or a complete cylinder), the correct rear light oval sort not round,
A speedo, rear wheel drive assembly complete the one on is shot.

Hi Mark, which year is your 100 Sport?
There are two versions of the rear wheel drive assembly: 1.) Rear drum and sprocket is one part, on the right side of the bike 2.) Rear drum on the left side, sprocket assembly on the right.
I haven't seen the original oval rear light on a 100 Sport for years - do you have any pic of this rear light?
The round cylinder under the seat is the tool box - sorry no lid left.

I'll have a look at my 100 Sport parts boxes, but these parts are hard to find.

Hi, Thanks for the response.  Its a 1957 with sprocket and drum as one part.  The only image i have of the rear light is the drawing from the parts manual.

I'm happy for a complete Cylinder if you have one not just a lid.

The exhaust I obtained from Samuele Brezzi fits. With a bit of adjusting but doesn't have quite the same profile as the original so needs modifications to the rear support.
The seat cover obtained from the same source does not fit. It's too short.

These bikes very often have aftermarket seats fitted, complicating matters.

Looking through my box of parts i have the ring with the holes for the kickstart spring missing. its part 206 in the 100 sport parts manual (Boccola per Leva) also the pin that goes in the kick.  Would you happen to have these at all.

Also engine mount bushes are shot and i have none of the rubbers for gear changer, brake and kick.

I usually restore cars so this is all new to me.  If i can ever be of service with regards to paint spraying and finishing, let me know.

Gert gives you good advice - ebay Italy is a source for parts, as is Subito but you don't have the same level of reassurance with Subito.

The Laverda 50-75-100 Facebook page will give you suggestions for suppliers - unfortunately there is no single source of parts for the little bikes , you have to hunt through various suppliers such a Samuele Brezzi to see what Laverda bits they have.

If your 100 is the orange and silver sold one on UK ebay recently, I would advise that the mudguards and toolbox look like there are off a 1955 100 sport, not the 1957 or 1958 Sport Lusso that yours is.  Andy L has just restored an utterly beautiful Sport Lusso which will indicate what yours looked like originally, if you're into spoke counting  :D (apart from the rearsets).
Andy has also produced an essential engine stripdown guide printed in the last few editions of LVV. If you're building up the engine from a box of bits you'll really benefit from it.

Sirrimoto are a good source of used tiddler parts.  I may well be proven wrong (no change there) but I think the link to a Laverda rear hub that Gert has supplied you is for a 1953 75cc hub. They used a unique design of hub attachment - from 1954 onwards Laverda changed to rubber cushdrives for front and rear wheels, until the Sport Lusso full width hubs were introduced.  Sorry that was really anoraky?

It is the orange and silver one.  So it looks like i need new mudguards then and is it the 2 part tool boxes i need (606CL and 607CL in the parts manual?

The rear mud guard looks correct but my front does not have the additional brackets at the top because it is infilled.  Just when you think you are getting somewhere.

Thanks for the advice on the Build up info Simon has already forwarded these to me so i have a good starting point.  I need to speak/contact Andy L as i am hoping to hire his cam pulling tool and his nylon inserts so i can get the casings vapour blasted, but dont have his user name.

If its the Lusso do i have the correct rear wheel with drum and sprocket on same side?

Hi Mark, could you tell us the frame and engine number? Also some pix would be fine! I saw your orange/grey 100 Sport advertised, but I don't think it is a Sport Lusso.

If you need the 2 tool boxes, 606 and 607, I have a pair, new but surface rust. Bought 25 years ago at Imola or Reggio Emilia market.

Hi Mark, frame 57514 and engine 57514.S, small hubs and drum and sprocket on the same side - so it is a 1957 100 Sport, but not the Sport Lusso. The Lusso always came with the big hubs, drum on the LH, sprocket on the RH, with battery and two tool boxes.
