LAVERDA 650/750 Prototype photos 2

Stunning photos Gert !

Have they been enhanced, like AI ?, or are they reproductions/copies of the original prints ?
The quality of the details is really impressive.

Is it a reflection, or are there scratches on the bottom of the crash bars ?

Thanks
Stéphane
… no Steph, they are original press photos from the 70s! I only scanned them. Ciao, Gert

The "750 la Diva" book states that the prototype for the 1966 Earls Court exhibition in London featured a 180° engine configuration.

The display model was equipped with a double-simplex front brake - a feature that was evidently not cont’d. So obviously there was a lot of R&D wrt the brakes. Those used in the 1968 Giro were 2LS units, which, in turn, were not retained for the initial 2LS production models.

And they went away from the cool mudguards with the angled edges to smooth rounder jobbies.

Production cost restraints be damned. 🙄

Where do I post my complaints letter to?
🤔 It’s probably 58 years too late anyway.

combien d'années pour en arriver la? .j'avais fait cette photo au Castellet en 78.

Although, from the prototype those angled edge mudguards really remind me of the guards on my GT, which is a '69 bike.
