Laverda 750 SFC - now SOLD

I owned and ridden a 70 Breganzie 750 SF0 for 45 years and loved that ride; however, I would not spend money on an 750 SFC for whatever the price where I could buy a used BMW F800R for 1/4 the price and walk all over that enchant Breganzie 750 SFC or 1000 Jota triple for that matter.

A BMW F800R is a great bike, but looks crap in your living room or business office where an SFC impresses colleagues and customers no end with how cool and what a man of good taste the boss is.

Have one for sale for 4.300?.

I doubt that...  ::) :LOL:

Friend of mine was dating a stewardess in the 80's. He had his Laverda taken appart and brought up into his flat on first floor, somewhere in the center of Munich (Germany). The engine was on a 80 x 80 cm wood on the fridge. In every cubboard you looked in, there were Laverda parts in the kitchen. The gauges and the chain/chainwheel were mounted to the wall above his bed etc.

after a nice weekend with his stewardess, she pointed to the engine and said: "I am flying the whole week. When I am back next weekend, the parts are out of the kitchen, or..." - he asked "or - what?" she: "Or I am out of your life!"

Well - she was really straight... She came Friday, parked her luggage near the door, went into the kitchen, saw the engine where it was left beginning of the week, turned around and went off, never to be seen again...

You clearly know more than I do, as far as I know SFCs in business offices can be counted on one hand.

Thanks for your input on the bike. It sold the same day I put up the ad with several buyers who wanted it immediately. Guess the price was fair according to its condition. On the topic of cleanness of the bike: It has spent the last over 20 years being pampered in our garage, only been run to keep the engine in good running condition and has just undergone a final overhaul and thorough cleaning.

And yes, It came with Canadian papers and all import papers as well. History available until the original purchase.

So I have heard this bike has 2 right side carbs. Is this something that was sometimes done or do you think it was just done because no left hand was available? The bike is pretty much in exactly the condition as it was purchased all these years ago in Canada, when I compare todays pics to the ones I have from Canada. This bike has only been driven for 8 miles since then, besides that only run in the garage.

320driver. Happy for you that you got it sold so quickly. I truly hope that it gets some fresh tyres and gets ridden as it begs to be but unfortunately the price value will likely rule that out. They are truly fantastic bikes to ride hard, despite the ergonomics.

In memory of a dead brother who owned it.

Understand - however I think a more worthy dedication to the brother who loved it would be to send it out onto the rads and tracks of the world. I have ceased to have any real interest in round cases, SFCs and any museum pieces being hailed as motorcycling legends. A dirty old SFC with nicely scrubbed tyres, on the road or the track, would bring great joy to my heart.

And me if I can still ride mine any distance.
It's currently quarantined in Italy.

It was probably the worlds dirtiest SFC before it was incinerated.

I very much doubt that Laverda would have sent it out with 2 right hand carbs. Pretty sure, someone exchanged it (you wrote in the advert that the carbs have been changed, so I assume that was the time this happened). There are lots of other modifications and uncorrect things to the bike (like I wrote you offline), which I doubt have been done in Canada before your father bought it (bolts on the calipers, bolts on the rear shocks, handle-bars, etc. etc. etc.), but the carbs are for sure the worst modification and one of the most obvious ones.

Still, at the price I think it was a good deal for both sides as it leaves some budget to the new owner for reversing most of the modifications (if originality is what is aimed for).

you are probably forgetting Ray Shones "cc" eletronnica, 'twas a disgusting mess Paul, as demonstrated at the opening of Cor Dees museum all those (few) years ago, but then, wait.... I have an idea that you didn't attend that one, and nor the closing which I do remember, because overnight on the Friday/sat, I rode my pan from Lisse, Holland to the Amicale meeting near Limoges,France, or am I wrong yet again
