I went looking for a strap-mounting tank bag for my plastic-tanked Atlas and there bloody hard to find these days. Just about all are either clip-mounted to fuel tank caps or magnetic and they won't work my or your case. The only ones I found are these Bagster ones that mount off a tank bra, thats a fully wrap around the tank protector that must fit the tank and that isn't going to happen on that long tank and expensive or they make a strap kit that's much cheaper.
And these as well. I would have bought one of these but the tank cap breather sticking up was an issue on my bike.

Hi
and a happy new Year.

The Tankbag shown on your Picture is a
HARRO Elefantenboy ( made in Germany)
Type 401 or 402 or 417 , maybe some other.

You can find them on Ebay.

Regards,
Rainer

Good call! Definitely an Elefantenboy.

Now being manufactured again
Website is in German, but I guess an email inquiry in english should work.
Harro tank bags open up towards the rear, whereas most others open up towards the front.
Clearly shows who tested their product, and who didn't......

BTW: how about some pics of a fully baggage loaded 750 SFC or Replica

I had some pics of my Electronica fully laden with panniers, tent etc for the ride down to Breganze in 97.
The pannier bags broke the saddle and the 2/1 burnt a hole in the bottom.
Photos unfortunately disappeared in a divorce.

And a video of a 70 year old getting on and off it ;)
Good to see that these Elephant jobbies are available. Everything available here like Vince says uses those cam-lock things over the modern type fuel cap.
Paul, you aren't the only one to have found out that the 2/1 can melt the bottom out of the LH pannier. Luckily we saved it before decorating the Nullabor with the contents and fabricated a shield from a coke can.

Here's an alternative at a fraction of the price of the German one

That is just a small bag with 8Liters, the Elefantenboy is up to 30 Liters and you can put all your items in what‘s needed for a one week trip.
But I also would not buy it today for that price. I use double tank bag wit about 20 Liters since years, which cost less than 50 € and I learned to reduce my baggage.

Photo taken in Sausalito California, about to head off to Vancouver to catch a plane to London. Arrived at Gatwick airport, did some paperwork and the customs guy took me to where the containers are unloaded, then unlocked a gate and I pushed the SFC into England. Reconnect the battery, put a gallon of fuel in and rode off into the sunset.

When I owned an SFC years ago I used an Eclipse tank bag that I still have and would gladly give to you for free but I'm stateside. Check out the Eclipse site

The tank bag on the SFC is also an Eclipse. Used it for years, great tank bag.
As for calipers behind the forks, didn't notice any difference really but it was what we did back then.
Now back where they belong in front.

Always travel light.. This was a fantastic tank bag that you could attach to tank or seat without damaging anything thanks to the rubber straps with rubber hooks. Purchased in mid 90 ies and lasted until 5 years ago, never found a replacement.

If anyone ever sees one..

Do you need to take the wheel out to mount the bag?

Add to that the tax for importing a Chinese made product from the UK to Italy and exorbitant postage costs.
